During your 20-day trip to Indonesia, you will visit three islands: Java, Bali, and Lombok. You will be welcomed to a unique village with a traditional Tumpeng lunch. This village has been preserved from mass tourism, allowing you to experience local life and meet people in their daily routines. You will visit the majestic Borobudur Buddhist temple and the Prambanan Hindu temple, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Before arriving in Bali, you will climb the two breathtaking volcanoes of Bromo and Kawah Ijen.
In Bali, you'll enjoy a mix of nature, tradition, and marine life. Menjangan is the starting point for your Bali tour, where you'll discover the underwater world. Munduk is the heart of Bali, perfect for visiting beautiful waterfalls, strolling through rice paddies, hiking in the jungle, and meeting the locals. Ubud is a beautiful region, the center of Balinese culture and art, including traditional dance, woodworking, silversmithing, and Balinese painting.
For the final part of your trip to relax, we will take you to Gili Air – Lombok. One of the three Gili islands, it is dedicated to those who love peace and quiet, snorkeling from the beach, or you can take a boat to the other Gili Meno or Gili Trawangan.

YOUR JAVA-BALI-LOMBOK TOUR
DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN YOGYAKARTA & MEETING THE LOCALS (L)
Arrival at Yogyakarta International Airport. Welcome by our representative. Transfer to Semawung Village, approximately a 30-minute drive. Discover the local Javanese culture and way of life. Interact with them.
DAY 2: LOCAL LIFE OF THE JAVANESE
- After a local breakfast, visit the village primary school to learn about the lives of the children, the national education system, and to exchange ideas. You can give them small souvenirs from your country.
- Return to the house and you will take a traditional Javanese cooking class and you will eat afterwards.
- In the afternoon, we will go for a bike ride through the village and rice fields to enjoy the village atmosphere and the beauty of nature and to understand rice cultivation.
- Tea Time at 4:30 PM
DAY 3: BOROBUDUR
- After breakfast, depart for a visit to Borobudur, the largest Buddhist temple in the world. The temple is composed of ten levels: six square levels decorated with 2,672 bas-reliefs, and four circular levels adorned with 544 Buddha statues. Visiting Borobudur at sunrise will provide a peaceful atmosphere and beautiful photo opportunities. Borobudur is considered a mandala, a Buddhist concept representing the path to Nirvana.
- Afternoon, check-in at your hotel. Free time with the family.
DAY 4: YOGYAKARTA CITY VISIT TO PRAMBANAN (B)
- Discover the city of Yogyakarta. Take a short ride in a becak (local three-way taxi). Visit the Sultan's Palace, also known as the Kraton, the main residence of the Sultan/King of Yogyakarta. Continue your visit with a walk to observe the birds and animals. Yogyakarta is the city of batik, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Batik workshops are available.
- In the afternoon, visit the Prambanan temple complex, comprised of 340 temples, the three main ones being dedicated to the Trinity: Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva. It may be possible to visit the temples of Sewu, Bubrah, and Lumbung if time permits.
DAY 5: TRAIN YOGYAKARTA – MOJOKERTO – BROMO
- Transfer by train to discover a beautiful landscape of rice paddies. Get off in the town of Mojokerto. Continue to the village of Bromo and visit the beautiful Madakaripura waterfall along the way.
- Afternoon, check-in at your hotel
DAY 6: BROMO-KALIBARU SUNRISE
- Jeep excursion to Mount Bromo from Mount Penanjakan, the highest point to see a superb landscape of the large caldera and its active volcanoes at sunrise.
- After sunrise, descend back to the bottom of the Caldera and cross the sea of sand to climb the Bromo Volcano for about 30 minutes to discover the crater of an active volcano and its fumes touch the sky.
- Return to the hotel for breakfast before leaving for Kalibaru around 5 a.m.
DAY 7: BOTANICAL GARDEN VISIT
- After breakfast, visit the traditional market and continue to the botanical garden to discover various plants and tropical spices such as vanilla, pepper, and turmeric. Kalibaru is a village renowned as a center of coffee and cocoa plantations since the Dutch colonial period.
- Transfer to Banyuwangi via the Djawatan forest, renowned for its beautiful magical woods
DAY 8: ASCENSION OF KAWAH IJEN > PEMUTERAN BALI
- Hike up the Kawah Ijen volcano and lake, and explore the fortified homes of the sulfur mines. Enjoy breathtaking views at sunrise or witness the blue flames of the night sky. Return to your hotel for breakfast and a shower.
- Transfer to Ketapang port to take the Ferry to Bali.
- Welcome in Gilimanuk by the Bali driver who accompanies you to your Hotel in Pemuteran Bali.
DAY 9: SNORKELING
After breakfast, transfer by car to Banyuwedang port to catch a boat (approximately 30 minutes) to Menjangan Island. You'll spend a lovely morning snorkeling and enjoying a picnic lunch on the beach. It's a day of discovering marine life, beautiful aquarium fish, and the coral garden. You might even spot deer roaming freely. Balinese people often come to make offerings at the temples of Menjangan, in front of the Ganesha statue.
Afternoon Return to your Hotel. Enjoy the hotel and relax.
DAY 10: BANJAR HOT WATER – GIT GIT WATERFALL
- After breakfast, transfer to the village of Banjar, renowned for its hot springs. Decorated with dragon statues, the hot water cascades into three baths. You can enjoy a relaxing soak after hiking the volcanoes of Java. Balinese people often come here for health treatments. Don't forget your swimsuit.
- If you wish, you can visit the Brahma Vihara Arama Buddhist temple, with its miniature Borobudur, before heading to Munduk. Visit the beautiful Git Git waterfall. It's about a 20-minute walk through coffee and clove plantations to reach the waterfall where you can swim.
DAY 11: WALK IN THE PUPUAN RICE FLORA – HIKE IN THE TAMBLINGAN FOREST
- After breakfast, transfer to the village of Belimbing, renowned for its beautiful terraced rice paddies and rarely visited by international tourists. You can take a stroll through the village along its narrow paths to discover the rice paddies and various tropical plants.
- In the afternoon, enjoy a hike in the Tamblingan forest for about an hour to discover a beautiful rainforest and towering trees that seem to touch the sky. You will discover diverse flora, some of which has medicinal properties. The Balinese have great respect for nature and the forests. They often wrap a black and white cloth around a tree trunk and place small offerings there. This is a beautiful way to preserve nature. You will return by traditional wooden canoe, allowing you to experience a peaceful feeling amidst the natural beauty of Lake Tamblingan.
DAY 12: ULUN DANU BRATAN – JATILUWIH – BUTTERFLY PARK
After breakfast, we will visit the beautiful Ulun Danu Temple, built on the shores of the lovely Lake Bratan in the 17th century by the King of Mengwi. This temple is dedicated to the Goddess Sri. In Hinduism, Sri is a goddess who tends rice. The temple offers a beautiful view of the lake. Ulun Danu Temple is a major temple, renowned for its location as a pre-wedding photo location for locals.
We will visit the village of Jatiluwih, renowned for its beautiful terraced rice paddies, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can take a walk along the small paths through the rice fields to discover agricultural life and the Subak way of life.
Transfer to Gianyar Ubud
DAY 13: CULTURAL VISIT: TIRTA EMPUL – GUNUNG KAWI
Mid-morning, transfer to Tampaksiring village to visit the Gunung Kawi Tampaksiring temple. Built in the 11th century, this monument is considered the tomb of King Udayana and Anak Wungsu. To visit this temple, you must descend approximately 200 steps and hundreds of stairs through beautiful terraced rice paddies and along the Pakerisan River. These temples are carved into the rock. You will find people working to carve coconuts and animal bones.
Continue your visit to the Tirta Empul temple, which means "water springs forth." You will find freshwater springs that never dry up, even during the dry season. The water at Tirta Empul Temple is considered sacred. Many Balinese come to the temple every day to perform purification ceremonies.
DAY 14: UBUD: RAFTING AND QUAD BIKE RIDE
After breakfast, we will organize some of Ubud's top activities for you. You will go rafting to discover the Ayung River, beautiful lush nature, and then continue with a quad bike ride for about an hour.
In the afternoon you can stroll around town independently, visit the market, the Ubud temple, go shopping and sample local cuisine.
You can also stroll through the terraced rice paddies.
DAY 15: UBUD - A FREE DAY
A free day in Ubud. You can explore the town of Ubud, a center of Balinese art known for painting, woodworking, stained glass, and silver work. You can also visit the town center: the Ubud Kings' Palace, the traditional market, and art galleries.
DAY 16: BALI – PADANGBAI – GILI AIR

Our Friendly Tips for Making the Most of Your Trip to Indonesia
- Encourage interaction with the residents
Throughout this tour, you will regularly interact with local people. Learning a few simple Indonesian words like Terima kasih (thank you), Selamat pagi (hello), or Permisi (excuse me) is always greatly appreciated and makes communication easier. These small gestures make the encounters more authentic and enriching.
- Protect yourself from the tropical sun
Indonesia has a sunny climate all year round. Remember to pack:
- A high SPF sunscreen
- A hat or a cap
- Sunglasses
- This will allow you to fully enjoy outdoor activities: hiking, cultural visits and marine excursions.
- Choose appropriate clothing
For temples and traditional villages, it is advisable to wear:
- Clothing covering the shoulders
- Trousers or skirts below the knee
- A sarong can be very useful (and is often provided on site in temples).
- Recommended footwear
