Ubud

Ubud is considered as the capital of balinese Art and Culture. Ubud is located in the central of Bali. The local artist like I Gede Nyoman Lempad, I Gusti Made Deblog, Ida Bagus Made, and the foreigner artist like Rudolf Bonet, Walter Spies, Arie Smit made their collaboration and has been recognize as the Modern painting of Bali.

You can visit Museum Puri Lukisan, near Ubud Palace for traditional art painting and contemporary. Antonio Blanco, an artist  came from spain had fallen in love in Balinese life and Balinese girl that He decided to married her and stayed in bali until he died. He love to women life and all the time He paint about Balinese girl. He has built his museum near the campuhan river.

Ubud Palace is habited until now by the royal family of Ubud.  Every evening You can assist to traditional dance of Barong.  From his Palace, The Ubud King could observe of daily activity of Ubud community.  Near Ubud Palace, You can find the beutifull village temple, and  Ubud market.  You may find all type of art souvenir from around Ubud. Please bargain when you want to buy. On other side of Ubud Palace, You can visit Ubud monkey forest.

For those who like the daily life, You can go walk through the small path in the rice field or you can take bicycle.

From Ubud, you could visit the Gajah Cave, the Hindou – Bouddhis temple.  Northern  side fro Ubud,  You can  visit  the Gunung Kawi temple in the beautifull rice field near the Pakerisan river.  Not far from there, You can visit  the aquatic temple of Tirtaempul in order to find the  religious life.  The Balinese community come every day to this temple to make offering and purification by the holly water.  For Family,  You can visit the Bird and Reptile Park, and the Safari of Elephant. Ubud is located between the rice field and the volcano which made the climate in Ubud is so refreshing to take a walk, cycling or even rafting.

1.5 hours by car from Ubud, you could see a beautiful Volcano of Batur and a very beautiful volcano lake. You could do some hiking to Mount Batur at the sunrise or simply hiking to the ancient lava flow of Mount Batur.
