Borobudur
The world class cultural heritage - UNESCOLocated in 1 hour drive from Yogyakarta, Borobudur is as one of the seven wonders in teh world. The temple was built on 9th century. It consists of nine stacked platforms, six square and three circular, topped by a central dome. The temple decorated by 2.672 reliefs pannels and 504 Buddha statues.
Borobudur is one of the buddhist temples complex with Mendut and Pawon. Waisak is the principal ceremony in Buddhism. it held on May during the full moon. The buddhists will start from Mendut to make Puja in front of Buddha Awalokiteswara statue then continue walk to Pawon temple and end to Borobudur temple.
Borobudur is a Mandala, a way to reach Nirwana, world emptiness, no suffering. by your Guide, You will learn bouddhism through the relief carved on the wall and the 504 Bouddha statue in the niche.
When Visiting Borobudur and arriving on the last terrace of the temple You will feel a sensation. Start from six concentric square terraces, than go up to three circular platforms and arriving at the top, a monumental stupa where you can wacth 360 degree of the nature beauty in around of the temple. From the top of the temple, you can discover a beautiful scenery of Menoreh Mountain. The best time to take a picture in Borobudur is early in the morning or afternoon on sunset.

After the visit of temple you can continue some activities that you can do around the site : Cycling in the village, Hiking through the village and beautifull rice paddy terracering to see how local life and interact with them, visiting ceramic workshop, fabrication of tofu, rafting, etc

Borobudur open every Tuesday – Sunday from 08.30 – 15.30. Reservation is very recommended to make sur You can enter into the temple. Quota is 1.200 tourists everyday.
